Facilities

The Hills School is located Northmead in a beautifully landscaped setting. Set on 3 hectares the school provides open spaces for students to participate in a range of learning opportunties. The school has 19 modern classrooms with flexible learning spaces that cater for different learning needs and activities. Other facilities include a hydrotherapy pool, a purpose built hall for student performances and presentations, a community supported canteen, recently completed Multi-purpose room for arts and food technology and a sensory room [due for completion in 2022].

The state of the art library provides students and staff access to study and recreational resources in all teaching and learning activities and across all curriculum areas. All classes visit the library on a weekly basis to borrow books, CDs, DVDs and videos. Students in their weekly visit are involved in literacy and information skills activities.

Six specialised playground areas offer opportunities for students to engage in a variety of stimulating play and recreational activities. A range of bikes and a bike track provide students with the facilities to learn basic road safety skills.

A community garden and farm allows students to develop a wide range of skills, attitudes and integrated knowledge associated with healthy lifestyles and sustainable environments.
