Book Parade

Principal’s Message:

Hello parents and carers, and welcome to the Term 4 Week 3 newsletter. Term 4 has had a successful start as we round off the final part of the learning year. In Week 2 we all enjoyed Book Week with the petting zoo being a highlight for all. Our Book Parade was great fun albeit a little strange without mums, dads and grandparents to cheer us on but despite this everyone dressed up and had a great time.

We continue to work and plan around restrictions as a result of COVID -19. Some of the most significant items are below:

- The new Term 4 guidelines have continued the requirement for COVID testing for all students who present as unwell with flu like symptoms. Please refer to the detailed information that has been sent home regarding the requirement that all students absent with flu like symptoms must return a COVID negative result sighted by the school prior to returning to school.

- Community access and excursions have started again with strict COVID safety planning in place. We’ll see what this means for Leisure Week and other activities in the weeks to come.

- At this stage we continue to limit access to all services unless deemed essential for delivery of curriculum.

Parents will notice a slight change to the foyer as we have re-fit the office to be safer for staff and students. We’ve installed a new hall doorway that allows us to control the flow of people through the front office into the main part of the school while still be able to present a welcoming space as the first point of reference for those visiting The Hills.

Room 15 and 16 have been enjoying the new ceiling mounted hoists in both the classroom and bathroom. It’s only a small addition but the efficiency of transitions is making a huge difference to teaching time, not to mention saving staff backs in the process.
