Principal's message:

Hello all and welcome to our Term 1 Week 7 newsletter.  I’d like to begin this week with a word of thanks for the active participation and genuine partnership we’ve had from families in our IEP meetings. Our IEPs are a key feature in our teaching and learning programs and supplement the significant work that goes into a teaching and learning program and allow staff to tailor learning to each of our students. Thanks again for your input.

Celebrating Cultural Diversity

On Monday 17 March we celebrate with our Irish families and many Irish teachers on St Patrick’s day –We’d love to see all children dressed to celebrate – with a mufti day on Monday – wear green!. A great fun day for all.

Next week is officially Harmony Week, an Australian Government program that centres on the message that “Everyone belongs”, reinforcing the importance of inclusiveness to all Australians. Since 1999, thousands of Harmony Day events have been staged in childcare centres, schools, community groups, churches, businesses and federal, state and local government agencies across Australia. We will Celebrate Harmony Day on Friday 21 March with students dressed in orange or in their traditional cultural costume.

P&C BBQ Volunteers

The Hills School P&C have a long-standing relationship with Bunnings Northmead and regularly provide the best sausage sandwiches on the BBQ calendar. Last year this effort raised almost $10,000 for the school. This year the P&C are booked in for monthly BBQs but they need your help. The team is looking for help for whole or part days and commitment is flexible. Confirmed dates for 2025 are; 18 May, 21 June, 19 July, 16 August, 14 September, 5 October, 19 October, 23 November and 14 December.

If you help, we’d love to hear from you. Please call BBQ captain Jeff on 0429 924 890.
