Principal 's message:
Welcome to our first newsletter for the term. It's been wonderful welcoming the students back after the holiday break and then settling into the rhythm of the new term.
REMEMBERING SHERIDEN BARONE
I would like to thank all our families for their support at the passing of our beloved former teacher, Sheriden Barone, especially during the alternative supervision arrangements on Wednesday. As we shared on Facebook, Sheriden made a profound impact on the lives of countless students and families during her many years at The Hills School. Her dedication, kindness, and passion for teaching will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege to know her. Sheriden will be deeply missed by our staff and valued by the families she touched throughout her career. Our thoughts and condolences go out to her family during this difficult time.
ANZAC DAY CEREMONY
On Friday 2 May, during our first week back at school, we hosted our annual Anzac Day ceremony. This event allows us to honour the contributions of those who have selflessly served our country during times of war. I want to express my appreciation to the staff for their efforts in making this service inclusive, and I extend my gratitude to all the students who spoke, sang, created wreaths, posters, and poppies.
MUFFINS WITH MUMS
We were thrilled to hold our first Muffins with Mums event on Wednesday 7 May 2025. It was a heartwarming morning of connection, as students welcomed their mothers and mother figures—grandmothers, aunts, guardians, friends, and other significant female role models—to our school for a fun-filled morning. This event provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the vital role that mothers play in our lives and to strengthen the bonds within our school community. Thank you to everyone who participated in this special occasion.
