Principal's message:
Dear parents and friends of The Hills School,
National Simultaneous Storytime
On Wednesday 21 May all of our classes enjoyed National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS). The event is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), this year we celebrated the 25th Anniversary. Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops, and many other places around the country. By facilitating this event we aim to: promote the value of reading and literacy, the value and fun of books, promote an Australian writer and publisher, promote storytime activities in our classrooms. This year we enjoyed reading "The Truck Cat" written by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell. A great book!
Student Attendance
I want to take a moment to emphasise the importance of regular school attendance for your child's success. Each day of learning is crucial, as consistent attendance helps students foster social connections and supports their overall development. We understand that sometimes circumstances arise that may prevent attendance. Together, we can help set them on a path to achieve their full potential. Thank you for your continued support!
Vaccination Clinic
We are happy to share the success of our recent school flu vaccination clinic! We were able to provide flu vaccinations to many students, helping to reduce the risk of illness this season. A special thank you to our dedicated staff and the healthcare professionals who made this clinic possible. We encourage everyone to continue practicing good hygiene and staying healthy as we move through the flu season together!
