Principal's message:
Hello all and welcome to our Term 1 Week 9 newsletter.
Senior Information Evening
On Monday 24 March parents of students from Year 10-12 were invited to school to discuss the senior school program and learn about the transition to post school processes. At the meeting Kelly gave a presentation on the content of curriculum and work education programs for our older students. Our community support officer Brigette gave some context to her role and how she supports families in transition and our support teacher transition Andrew Peterson shared about the transition planning process and options for different students. We are looking forward to continuing this as a regular feature of community supports in the years to come. Year 10-12 parents are encouraged to attend the post school options bus tour in Term 2 and our mini-expo in Term 3. Again, thanks to those who were able to join us on the night.
School Photo Day
In Week 8 we had a great time taking photos with all students and staff looking absolutely fabulous – some fancy hair and super slick looks. We get our staff photos done before school and it’s always fascinating watching staff transform before they go to class – hair up, jewellery off, runners on ready for a day of active learning. For families wishing to make purchases of photos please refer to notes provided or contact our office for some guidance.
Staffing News
I would like to congratulate Adam Zielonka on his successful appointment by merit selection to Tallowood SSP. Adam will join his new school in Term 2. On behalf of all the students, staff and school community I would like to sincerely thanks for the immeasurable impact he has had over his years at The Hills School. Wishing you all the very best Adam.
